Farewell youth

Only a flutter,
Remembering the past
And then it's gone.
Never let it surface too long.
Gone are days of youth,

The things we did
All revolved
Around one another.

Time passed
We grew up
Things changed
And so did we.

I miss that life
I miss those people
But they're gone
They no longer exist.

I miss that hope
That anything is possible
That somehow
Things could be different.

I wish that
Life could reverse
So many things
That I'd do differently.

Take a missed opportunity
Turn it into history
Re-write the future
Make us both in the present.
